A spectacular new public artwork is coming to the Wynyard Quarter in late July. Waka Moana, a sculptural walkway honouring Tāmaki Makaurau’s rich maritime and cultural heritage. Created in partnership with Mana Whenua and designed by artist Graham Tipene, the artwork features nine waka-shaped sculptures, approximately six-metres high. These will be placed in the rain gardens of Daldy Street to create an immersive experience along the pedestrian pathway.
