Recognising that the city centre is facing significant challenges as a result of COVID, there is a coordinated and collaborative approach to aiding its recovery. Short term initiatives include promotion and activation, business support and safety initiatives. With the confirmation of a shift to Orange on 31 December, events are all go for the city centre next year. Late Night Art, New Zealand Fashion Week, International Comedy Festival and Pride Festival are just some of the events happening in the city centre during the first half of 2022.
